But one thing fans loved about its design was how customizable the Binky Bong was. So ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin shared how she created it and what inspired the design.

During an interview with NHK, Min Hee Jin talked about forming NewJeans and creating content for the group. She mentioned how the idea for the Binky Bong came to her when she was falling asleep.

Min Hee Jin revealed that the lightstick’s signature bunny face came from putting together the uppercase letters of NewJeans’ name.

She knew it was perfect for the group because “the members reminded [her] of bunnies.” They weren’t the only ones who inspired the CEO.

Min Hee Jin said, “The bunny face symbolizes both the members and the fans.” And she enjoyed imagining a “concert venue full of bunnies” from seeing fans hold their lightsticks.

She didn’t stop at just one bunny design, either. Min Hee Jin made it customizable so fans could show their “own unique bunny, symbolizing individual characters.” So NewJeans could look out and see all the different bunnies supporting them.

It’s a representation of the love NewJeans wants to show to the fans, and the love fans want to show to NewJeans.
