…netizens couldn’t help but compare them to NewJeans. NewJeans’ debut concept photos were also similar shot on the street overseas using similar film techniques.

Although NewJeans does not own the vintage aesthetic, they definitely helped pivot its popularity in K-Pop. Netizens also compared them to f(x), another group who’s aesthetic was pioneered by Min Hee Jin, the CEO of NewJeans’ company. f(x) also employed both the vintage vibes, as well as a quirky, almost borderline creepy vibe.
