Shelby Jane Brooks: A Voice for Natural Beauty and Animal Advocacy

Shelby Jane Brooks, a 28-year-old artist from Redding, California, is using her music platform to champion natural beauty and animal rights. Shelby’s journey into music began at a young age when her mother took her to an N*Sync concert when she was just four years old. Her passion for music grew as she listened to and emulated Christina Aguilera’s ‘Back to Basics’ album. Eventually, she began writing and recording her own music, finding her niche in R&B.

What sets Shelby apart is her advocacy for natural beauty and animal rights. She is a proud vegan and wants to promote a natural image to help women embrace their own beauty. She also dreams of opening an animal sanctuary to save animals from testing and slaughter. Her musical training is diverse; while her original music is R&B, she also trains classically, which enhances her vocal technique. She performs opera repertoire and is working towards a music degree in college. Recently, she discovered a love for hip-hop dancing, which she plans to incorporate into her future music videos.

One of Shelby’s favorite lyrics is a testament to her personal growth: ‘I stopped smoking and drinking and suppressing my pain, I’m writing it down now, thanks for reminding me my purpose on this plane’ – from her song ‘Simply Amazing, PT. II’.

Shelby’s goals extend beyond her music. She plans to achieve success, defined as hitting a million followers, and use her platform to promote a positive message. Her dream is to open an animal sanctuary and share the animals’ rescue stories on social media. She also aspires to win competitions performing operatic material and tour performing her original music.

Shelby is promoting her single ‘Rhinestone,’ a song about self-love born out of failed relationships, with a music video coming soon (Link to the song). She’s also excited about her single ‘Social Media,’ featuring artist Kayos, which releases on December 22nd, 2023. The song discusses the detrimental effects of social media (Link to the song). Shelby also encourages her fans to check out her cover of Golden Hour by JVKE (Link to the song).
