Story: The DC, Maryland and Virginia region of the United States (often called the DMV) has been consistent in the last 2 decades when it comes to producing star after star after star – especially Virginia. However, no one would have ever guessed that the city of Roanoke, VA could produce the region’s next superstar artist. Matter fact, if you told us this 3 years ago we would have never even believed you. But now, there’s a super versatile artist by the name of Kan3 that’s building a strong case to be the DMV’s next favorite artist. With music similar to JuiceWorld and Post Malone, Kan3 has made his own sound and vibes from just being himself. But who is Kan3 really? Well, let’s get to know the star artist below.
24HH: What made you get into making music in the first place? I’d have to say my older brother is definitely the reason I started making music.
Kan3: The love for music was always there but then seeing him make his own music on top of that was all the motivation I needed.
24HH: Did your parents or family influence you into music, or were they against your music aspirations? My pops definitely encouraged it once he found out I was making music and my mom didn’t encourage it but she wasn’t against it either.
24HH: If you could collaborate with any artist outside of your genre, who would it be?
Kan3: If I had to pick it’d be a UK artist by the name of Sam Tompkins.
24HH: What makes your music different from other artists?
Kan3: I’d have to say my vulnerability in my lyrics and my voice.
24HH: Do you have a song you released that you dislike, but your fans love?
Kan3: Nah, I like seeing the evolution through my music so I’m a fan of everything I put out.
24HH: What was it like growing up in Roanoke?
Kan3: I was in a very racist and rough area for a good portion of my younger years until I hit about 8th grade. So all I did was school, chill with a couple of friends I had grew up with and played sports.
24HH: Do you have any crazy stories on performing live, or promoting your music in the club?
Kan3: Not anything super crazy yet. I’ve definitely made a lot of good connections and performed alongside some dope upcoming artists.
24HH: Do you have a favorite type of food that your fans should know about?
Kan3: I love general Tsos chicken lol Chinese food is by far my favorite.
24HH: What should your fans expect to come next?
Kan3: My next drop is going to be by far my biggest one yet so stay tuned because I have a lot coming for you guys!!!
