On November 11 (KST), RM’s Instagram Stories saw an update—which was soon deleted. The since-deleted picture showed the BTS member smoking a cigarette outside.

While RM is an adult and at legal smoking age, with the right to choose what he does, Korean fans are expressing genuine surprise at the picture—as K-Pop idols are often held to a much higher (and sometimes unreasonable) standard, and smoking has long been frowned upon in Korea.
Following the update, Twitter saw “Namjoon” trend with international fans also discussing the picture.
RM has not commented on the update.
