BTS And SHINee Had To Endure The Same Awkward “Rite Of Passage” As Rookies

BTS‘s Suga and SHINee‘s Taemin learned they have much more in common than they originally thought on the latest episode of Suchwita.

Not only were they both born in 1993, they shared similar experiences throughout their careers. Starting from their rookie days, Suga revealed he remembered watching Taemin’s “Danger” promotions.

The BTS members were in awe of his iconic performance.

I think it was at Inkigayo. Our members gathered around and this one monitor was there and we’d watch fellow artists.

However, during these times, BTS didn’t even have their own green room. Instead, they had partitions set up in the hallways to create a makeshift area for the members to stay in while on music shows.

We had partitions then in the hallway because we didn’t have separate green rooms, but I remember us being in awe.

Taemin revealed that SHINee had endured the same fate as rookies.

We also went through the partitions phase.

Described as a “rite of passage” for rookies, all artists must go through this initial phase and stick through it in order to be successful. Without their own green room to relax and get ready in prior to the performance, it can be a tiresome phase.

It had only been a year since BTS’s debut at the time…

…and despite the conditions the members were facing, they would watch SHINee in awe and be inspired by their work ethic.
