A Filipino birthday party is going viral for a fun reason!
Pinay TikTok user and ARMY, @patchwita, recently posted a video of her sister’s birthday party. Called a “debut” in the Philippines, it is an event marking the 18th birthday of a female celebrant. It often includes performances by the birthday girl as well as her family and friends.
Case in point: the brother of the BTS fan and his friends dressed in suits to entertain the guests with their K-Pop moves!

The guests applauded loudly when the birthday girl took on Halsey’s role and had her grand reveal during the chorus.

Likely for the sake of the attendees who were not immersed in K-Pop culture, the backdrop screen flashed the article title “BTS and Halsey’s ‘Boy With Luv’ becomes highest Billboard Hot 100 debut for K-Pop group.” Most of them, however, seemed to be aware of the viral song. They even made sure to shout out the “Boy With Luv” fanchant!

The video quickly made the rounds online in the Philippines, being liked over 92,000 times on TikTok. Netizens reacted positively to the “low budget BTS” performance, commenting the likes of, “This is so fun,” “They should do a member reveal,” and “I was smiling the whole time.”
