SHINee’s KEY makes a comeback today with the third mini album “Pleasure Shop” and the title track’s music video have been released simultaneously.
Including the eponymous title track, “Pleasure Shop” comprises six house-influenced songs – “Overthink,” “Golden,” “I Know,” “Going Up” and “Novacaine” – showcasing KEY’s signature sophisticated and sensuous style.
Centered around the concept of “Cyborg KEY” and the joy his “Pleasure Shop” brings, the latest album marks KEY’s highly anticipated return following the artist’s second mini album “Good & Great” released last September. The new album is expected to further cement KEY’s reputation as the “Concept Master KEY,” following a successful completion of his “Retro Trilogy” – his debut mini album “Bad Love,” second full-length album “Gasoline” and its repacked edition “Killer” – in addition to “Good & Great,” where KEY’s witty take on corporate life garnered widespread praise. KEY’s unmatched versatility shines through once again in “Pleasure Shop.”
The title track “Pleasure Shop” is a danceable electro house anthem that seamlessly blends unique synth pad patterns with infectious drumbeats. Co-written by KEY, the song tells the story of “Cyborg KEY” as he draws people into his world. Alternating between refreshing vocal tones and dynamic rap verse, the title track also features catchy choreography accentuating the “Pleasure Shop” theme.
‘Pleasure Shop’ Music Video
The accompanying music video features KEY as the owner of a shop that sells lenses bringing happiness. The narrative explores the strangeness he feels as he crash-lands in an unfamiliar world filled with joy. Portraying a mechanized future in the artist’s humorous sci-fi style, the music video also features visualized AI depicting various emotions of pleasure, creating a visually striking experience for viewers.
