The iconic Scottish band, headlined by Sharleen Spiteri, will headline the Concert In The Gardens on Tuesday December 31 – making it both their last gig of 2024 and first gig of 2025.
The set will see the band play beneath the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle amidst the New Year’s fireworks display, and break out some of their biggest hits including ‘Say What You Want’ and ‘Inner Smile’.
Spiteri and co. announced the Hogmanay headline slot while onstage during their sold-out show at the Glasgow Hydro last night (September 15), and news was also shared about the support act joining them for the Edinburgh Festival.
At the event, Texas will be joined by Edinburgh’s own Callum Beattie, who will be performing as a special guest, and comedian Susie McCabe will return to host the event – leading the country in a countdown to midnight.
“We can’t wait to play here for a third time. So get on your glad rags and let’s party for the New Year,” Spiteri said of the news. This year’s slot makes Texas the first band to headline the festival three times, having first appeared at the event back in 2005.

“We are thrilled to welcome Texas back to headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, 25 years after their very first appearance at the festival,” said the directors of Unique Assembly (who create and produce Edinburgh’s Hogmanay on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council). “Plus, with the addition of Edinburgh’s own Callum Beattie, it’s fantastic to have a stellar Scottish line-up for the very last show of 2024 and the first of 2025.”
They continued: “With a hit-packed show from Texas and the world-famous Midnight Moment from Edinburgh Castle, the Concert in the Gardens will kick-start 2025 with a bang, and give party-goers from around the world the perfect start to the year.”
The full programme for Hogmanay 2024 will be released in the coming weeks. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (September 20) and will be available here.
So far, other confirmed events taking place over the four-day event include the Night Afore Disco Party beneath Edinburgh Castle on December 30, as well as various free New Year’s Day events for young and old. Visit here for more information.
The band’s show in Glasgow over the weekend was the final date of the band’s 2024 UK Arena tour. The dates were first shared last year, shortly after the band shared their compilation album, ‘The Very Best Of 1989 – 2023’.
