Star Wars Outlaws launched just over two weeks ago, and the developers are already working on fixing some missions that feel unfair.

Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars game has a variety of mission types, but one has been deemed unfair: the instant fail stealth missions.
“You’re probably thinking of one of the early missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly punishing,” Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty told GamesRadar+.
“And for me, that is a mistake, and this is something that we’re going to work on improving. I don’t think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable.”
Many games have historically had stealth missions that fail instantly if the player is detected, but having to start any level over from scratch soon becomes frustrating for people.
In order to fix these missions, Gerighty said “we’re correcting already for a patch that’s coming out maybe in 10 days”. That was said on September 7, so we could see that patch early next week, September 17.
Director Mathias Karlson said the aim is to keep players “in that knife edge range between, ‘okay, I’m completely in stealth, oh shit: They’re about to see me. They saw me, but I can still do something about it, as long as I don’t raise the alarm. I can create chaos locally to be able to avoid that happening.’”
Other solutions include tweaking narrative context within missions so that there are fewer stormtroopers in stealth missions because they’ve been sent to new posts or have other reasons for not being as present.
In other news, Roblox has plans to add a music chart to the platform in early 2025 and will be partnering with DistroKid to get more songs into the game, but artists won’t be paid royalties.
