Los Angeles-based bedroom synth-pop pioneer and queen of today’s underground new wave scene, Geneva Jacuzzi, has unveiled her new single, Laps of Luxury, along with a visualizer just ahead of the release of Triple Fire, her third full-length album and first since signing with Dais Records, set for release this Friday, August 23rd, 2024.
The lyrics unravel tragic mysteries and explore the turn to fantasy as an escape, ultimately confronting the heavy toll these experiences have exacted. It’s a reflective ode to the cost of survival.
“Laps of Luxury is one of my favorite tracks on Triple Fire,” says Jacuzzi. “We spent the most time perfecting it in the studio. I was listening to a lot of Pet Shop Boys at the time and wanted to capture the light/dark ghostly dreamscape of castles and discos from another time. The lyrics are quite haunting and vague. The character is escaping in a car late at night. Processing the experiences that flood her mind and recounting them to the driver. ‘I’ve seen so many things/no one should ever see’… What did she see?!?! Poor thing. Obviously, something unspeakable. One could only imagine.”
In the minimalist DIY visualizer, Geneva Jacuzzi is featured in a studio backdrop, mirroring her album cover photograph including the surrounding black and white paper flames. The simple yet powerful visuals accentuate her performance, blending surrealism with avant-garde artistry. The stark setting allows Jacuzzi’s eccentric style to take center stage, creating a captivating interplay between the fiery imagery and her enigmatic theatrical presence.

Triple Fire, her third album and Dais Records debut, crystallizes her signature blend of midnight melodies and mutant aerobics in a 12-track synth-pop parade of post-apocalyptic camp.
