The first season of Rick and Morty: The Anime has started streaming, but how can fans in the UK watch the show? Read on for all the info.
The project was first announced in May last year, and will be a 10-episode series directed by Takashi Sano (Tower Of God), who previously helmed two anime shorts based on the show, ‘Rick and Morty vs. Genocider’ and ‘Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)’.
In a press release at the time, Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen said that Sano is a “huge” fan of the original series, making him “the perfect person to give us all this alternate version of this amazing show.”

The plot description for the anime series reads: “Rick relaxes in a pseudo-world between multiverses, Summer helps Space Beth fight the evil Galactic Federation, and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl who happens to be an atemporal being.”
The anime series will be the only piece of Rick And Morty content released this year, with the upcoming eighth season not scheduled to arrive until 2025.
How to watch Rick & Morty: The Anime in the UK
The 10 episodes of the show are being released weekly, with the first having premiered on August 16 and the second coming on August 23. The season will wrap with its final episode on October 18.
In the US, the show is streaming on Adult Swim, while across Europe, it is available on Max and HBO Max (or Warner TV Deutschland in Germany),
In the UK, however, there is currently no confirmation of any platform carrying Rick and Morty: The Anime.
The expectation is that if the show does arrive in the UK, then it will be through Channel 4’s Adult Swim service on E4. If there is a change in the situation, this page will be updated.
