Rue Oberkampf, the brainchild of DJ/producer team Julia de Jouy, Oliver Maier, constantly bridges different electronic subcultures. Their sound stems from early industrial, techno, and darkwave music roots. The trio’s ability to merge these genres creates a unique blend that resonates with a wide audience. de Jouy’s vocals, rich with emotion, layer over the pulsating beats and moody synths, weaving a tale of longing and melancholy.
In Deine Augen, being down to meet at the Crown symbolizes a deeper sorrow, an echo of missed connections, and fleeting moments in the shadowy corners of the dance floor. The song is one of Rue Oberkampf’s best yet, sounding like a more exuberant evolution of a Kraftwerk tune, tempered by the sensual tenderness of 80s Neue Deutsch Welle.
