Devoted Sinners sprang to life in August 2020, when Megatron Bison, better known as Tron, decided to venture into solo compositions. After lending his live vocals to Solemn Novena in 2006-07 and penning all lyrics and vocals for Grooving in Green from 2009 to 2022, Tron sought a new path. By 2022, he described the project succinctly:
“I wanted to explore the sounds of past and contemporary bands I’d loved from various sub-genres and to have the creative freedom to pursue my artistic urges when the muse struck,” he says.
Over the next two years, under the alias of Nicholas Dagger, Tron immersed himself in writing songs that spanned post-punk, darkwave, cold wave, gothic rock, and alternative rock. He handled all music and lyrics for the recordings, writing a collection of songs that echo the past while forging ahead into uncharted territory, all under the dim glow of his creative vision.
With sharp, dismissive lyrics and infectious hooks, It Was Tuesday, the gothic-singed single from Devoted Sinners, hits like darkwave TKO with a buoyant spectral beat. The acerbic words drip with indifference and disdain for someone who craves attention and believes they have everything figured out. Their actions and presence are brushed off as insignificant, mere background noise. This disdain underscores a stark disparity in significance; what was a monumental day for one is utterly forgettable for the other.
The tune’s biting message is clear: this person means nothing to them, just a passing blip in a world full of more pressing matters. The combination of catchy vocals and driving instrumentals makes It Was Tuesday a crystal clear statement, cutting through the noise with a razor-sharp edge.
“This track is a bold middle finger to the toxic, negative personalities cluttering social media and creative spaces,” quips Bison.
The release is accompanied by a promotional video revealing the musician and vocalist behind the one-man band as Megatron Bison (Grooving in Green, Solemn Novena). The video features playful nods to Raul Julia’s iconic performance as General M. Bison, with retro-tinged imagery and self-aware posturing.

It Was Tuesday is now available as a digital single and will also be featured on the upcoming compilation album Recalling Faerytales, limited to 100 CD copies, each including an exclusive numbered and signed artwork print.

Devoted Sinners debuted with The Dangerous Obsession EP in 2022, showcasing the project’s earliest four compositions. Following this, The Mediocre Goth Club was released to acclaim in 2023. Later that year, they released Nothing Lasts Forever, a four-track EP featuring two songs with guest vocals from Louise Patricia Crane, a previous collaborator from Solemn Novena. The compilation album Recalling Faerytales, which includes all their releases to date.
