According to Netflix, Wonderland will bring audiences “into a simulated universe where people can reunite with their departed loved ones” through a video call service called ‘Wonderland’. The film will notably star Park Bo-gum in his first role since the 2021 film Seo Bok.

Other cast members include Bae Suzy (Doona!), Jung Yu-mi (The School Nurse Files), Choi Woo-shik (A Killer Paradox) and Chinese actress Tang Wei. “The film explores the intriguing concept of using artificial intelligence to recreate the deceased, making it possible to once again communicate with those we love,” the streamer added.

Meanwhile, the newly released trailer for Wonderland gives viewers a glimpse of the fantasy sci-fi setting and the touching, parallel storylines that will play out over the course of the film. They include a mother who’s hiding her death from her daughter to a woman who’s reaching out to her boyfriend that’s beyond reach.

Wonderland will premiere internationally on July 26, with the exception of Korea, where it will be released at a later date.

In other Netflix news, the streamer has released the first teaser for its upcoming Korean reality series, The Influencer. The series, described as a social survival show, will bring together 77 influencers from across South Korea to compete in a game where they will prove who has the greatest influence.
