Summer is always full of fun pop numbers to get everyone in the mood for fun in the sun. Today (July 1st), YG Entertainment’s rising K-Pop group, BABYMONSTER, aims to start the summer with their new single “FOREVER.” The powerhouse girl group, although having debuted on April 1st, have gone on to make quite an impression in the short few months. Although after their record-breaking debut mini-album [BABYMONS7ER], fans will have to wait just a little longer for their highly anticipated first full-length album, which is due later this fall.
The pre-release does an excellent job at showcasing just why these girls are so popular, brimming with gorgeous vocals blended with quick raps by rapper Asa. Accompanying the release is the chic and glamorous music video. The video starts with the girls waking up in a hotel suite opening VIP invitations cards leading to them getting ready in designer attire whilst conducting flawless choreography dance breaks.
It’s no surprise that they’ve been named as one of NYLON’s bands to watch in 2024, as well as Billboard’s list of K-pop’s stars to watch. Not surprisingly, after their record-breaking debut mini-album [BABYMONS7ER] sold 400,000 copies upon release, breaking the record for highest first-week album sales for a K-pop girl group. The album featured three tracks BATTER UP, SHEESH, and LIKE THAT. However, fans will have to wait a little longer for their highly anticipated first full-length album, which is due later this fall.
The seven-member group, made up of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita have been revealed as the latest act to perform at Japan’s largest music festival, Summer Sonic 2024, in Tokyo taking place in August alongside some of the biggest names on the global music scene, including Bring Me The Horizon, MÅNESKIN, and Greta Van Fleet. If that wasn’t enough, they’ve gone on to make a splash in the fashion world as recently named global ambassadors for Adidas. You can watch the announcement video HERE.
