Japanese-born K-pop idol Juri has left girl group Rocket Punch after five years, Woollim Entertainment has announced.

Today morning (May 24), K-pop agency Woollim Entertainment announced that Rocket Punch member Juri would be leaving both the girl group and company. The singer made her debut as a member of the K-pop act in 2019.
“As of today (May 24), [Juri] has terminated her management contract with us,” Woollim Entertainment said, explaining that the singer “has a different contract period [from the other] members” as she “is a foreign member”.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Juri, who has been with us for a long time, and also to the fans who have always shown their unwavering love,” the K-pop agency continued, adding that Rocket Punch would continue on as a five-member group.

In other K-pop news, K-pop girl group NewJeans have released their new single, ‘How Sweet’, from their new double single album, which also features the previously released ‘Bubble Gum’.
The release of ‘How Sweet’ comes amid an increasingly heated feud between ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and HYBE over the ownership of the NewJeans label. Back in April, Min had claimed that HYBE and Belift Lab were “undermining” the success of NewJeans by creating a copycat version of the quintet.
Meanwhile, BTS leader RM has dropped his second solo album, ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’, alongside a music video for lead single ‘LOST!’. The record also features the previously released song ‘Come Back to Me’.
