Noel Gallagher has said he would be “bang up” for an Oasis hologram show after watching ABBA‘s ‘Voyage’ concert.

Speaking on Matt Morgan’s podcast, Gallagher said he was so impressed with the show, which features de-aged digital holograms of ABBA, backed by a live 10-piece band playing over vocals originally recorded in the ‘70s and ‘80s, that he would consider a concert based on his former band’s shows in the 1990s.
He said: “I went to see that Abba show. Have you been? It’s fucking unbelievable.” It was great – an hour and a half gig. It was very, very impressive. I genuinely thought at one point that the people on the stage, which were holograms, were… they looked that real that I thought they were actors, like playing. The way they walk to the stage is so realistic. If you ever get the chance to go, it’s well worth it.”
Gallagher continued: “I was very impressed by it to be honest but yeah, if anybody wants to do an Oasis one, give us a shout. I would be bang up for it. I’d say ‘great’, speak to that guy over there and then come up with a figure and then he’ll relay it to me and I’ll say either yes or no.”

Morgan questioned whether fans would be happy with the hologram show and might find it a bit “hollow”. Gallagher replied: “Well y’know, you never get to see the band so how much do you want it?”
Oasis are set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ this year, but Noel Gallagher recently ruled out a reunion to mark the milestone.
He discussed a potential return for Oasis during an interview with NME last summer. He said he would “inevitably” be approached about a tour, but added: “There’s never really been a serious offer about ‘The Big O’ getting back together, but there you go.”
Liam will be embarking on a special UK and Ireland tour that will see him perform ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full. He’ll also showcase the album in its entirety when he headlines Reading & Leeds 2024 in August.
Elsewhere, Gallagher defended not joining in with the Poznan at Manchester City’s match against Fulham last weekend, after his brother Liam called it “poor behaviour”.
ABBA meanwhile, recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of their Eurovision win.
In a five-star review of ABBA ‘Voyage‘, NME hailed it as “an epic avatar mega-mix from a brave new world”.
“Ageing rockers and poppers are bound to imitate the idea, but it’ll be a struggle to come close to the experience of ABBA Voyage,” it read. “We for one welcome our new ABBAtar overlords, if only for giving these songs back to us in a totally new and joyful way. As the digital Anderson concluded: “Without a song or a dance, what are we? That is the question.”
