In March, it was reported that SHINee‘s Taemin would leave SM Entertainment after sixteen years to sign with BPM Entertainment (also known as Big Planet Made).

On March 5, BPM Entertainment released statements to the Korean media regarding this rumor. OSEN was told the company was checking the matter, while TV Daily was informed that nothing was decided.

Many fans had concerns regarding BPM Entertainment due to past controversies. Despite this, it is now official that Taemin has signed with BPM Entertainment. On April 1, BPM Entertainment revealed that an exclusive contract was signed with Taemin.
We recently signed an exclusive contract with Taemin, who is known as SHINee’s main dancer and a solo artist. We will fully support Taemin’s wide-ranging music activities and do our best to help him excel in various fields from now on. We ask for a lot of support and love for Taemin’s new beginning.

A lot of changes have occurred already. Firstly, Taemin has been given his own artist logo.
Taemin now has his own company-run social media channels for Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. He also has a website. Additionally, his staff has an X account.
BPM Entertainment released profile photos for Taemin. This included two photoshoots showcasing Taemin’s unique style.
The first photoshoot featured Taemin in a classic black-and-white style. The second showcased him in color, showing his individuality and iconic fashion sense.
Now, fellow labelmate, choreographer and dancer Kany, who has worked with SHINee on “HARD” and more, welcomed Taemin by retweeting BPM Entertainment’s announcement. She recently signed with the agency herself.

While Shawols have been hesitant regarding BPM Entertainment, some are hopeful, seeing as how much has been done for Taemin as soon as his contract was signed.
