Fact Check: Is GOT7’s Jackson Wang Really “Kissing” Fans?

Besides his talents, skills, and visuals, one thing GOT7‘s Jackson Wang is known for is making the distance between fan and idol much closer, often going above and beyond to show fans that he cares just as much about them.

This has also manifested in some incredible fan experiences like the idol joining fans for a meal in a private setting and his viral Magic Mike-esque stage during his Magic Man World Tour.

However, some recent clips of what appear to be Jackson getting up close and personal at a show have gained attention online, but are they really him?

A TikTok account shared videos of what appeared to be Jackson in a stage/club setting, getting close to fans and appearing to mime “kissing them” while allowing them to touch and hug him.

Jackson has clubbed with fans before, performing in smaller venues, and usually is dressed in plain clothes like in those clips.

However, this person is not Jackson but rather a lookalike!

Known as Zhao Liangliang, the lookalike regularly performs while imitating Jackson and usually performs at a venue called Xiang Livehouse in Hangzhou. He is active on social media, posting clips of his performances.

Many lookalikes are active in China and use their resemblance to make money. Usually, these lookalikes receive no complaints from those they are imitating besides, in extreme cases where it is not clarified that they are not the actual star.

So, the impersonator doing this sort of impersonation is not a new development. However, some fans do not appreciate the impersonator behaving this way while looking like Jackson, explaining that misinformation can quickly spread and lead people to believe it is the GOT7 member.
