This is the first-ever broadcast performance from Sphere, a first-of-its kind venue that has ushered in a new era of live entertainment innovation and garnered worldwide headlines.

Following the record-setting launch of “U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere,” the legendary rock band is in the midst of an additional 11 dates that will last through February.

The announcement arrived after the first nine sold-out shows to meet the overwhelming demand for the show.

The news arrived after the band’s latest track “Atomic City” took the top spot on Billboard’s Alternative Digital Song Sales Chart, marking their first No.1 and fifth Top 10 on that particular chart.

“U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere” marked U2’s first live outing in four years and Sphere is the only place fans can see this show, with 36 total dates now running through February 18. Bono, The Edge and Adam Clayton will once again be joined onstage by Bram van den Berg, sitting in on drums for Larry Mullen Jr.

This additional run caps a thrilling era for U2. To kick off their Vegas residency, they shared “Atomic City.” Produced by Jacknife Lee and Steve Lillywhite, it’s been described as “hard-grooving” by Stereogum, while NME says it takes the band back “to the post-punk of their heyday with a stirring guitar hook reminiscent of their 1983 hit ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ and a chorus that channels Blondie.”

The song, which features a muscular guitar solo by The Edge, also makes a lyrical reference to Las Vegas, which was known in the 1950s as Atomic City, in an era when fascination with all things nuclear swept the United States. In this period, with its proximity to the Nevada Test Site, Las Vegas promoted itself as a center of “atomic tourism.” The track is available as a digital single in standard audio, HD audio, and Spatial/Atmos. There’s also a limited edition seven-inch vinyl format and a limited edition CD single.
