Considering BTS’s fame, it’s not surprising that celebrities tend to be compared, especially if they have a resemblance. Ahead of his debut, WAKER‘s Kwon Hyeop gained attention for his resemblance to BTS’s V in pre-debut photos shared online.

Recently, Kwon Hyeop shared some adorable content of himself on social media. In the image and video, the idol showcased his visuals and charm.

Netizens quickly noticed that some of the quotes from netizens were extremely toxic, sending hate to the young idol and “joking” about him doing V’s enlistment instead.

When netizens saw the tweets appearing under the young idol’s photo, they quickly came to Kwon Hyeop’s defense. In the comments, they shared how petty fans had to be to send “hate” to the young idol just for his resemblance to V. While there is a resemblance, it was something out of his hands, and Kwon Hyeop shouldn’t be targeted for it.

I miss the days when people thought in their mind “oh they look similar” and then went about their day without it turning into straight up harassment https://t.co/BDKGo57Yyj

harassing a nugu idol for having just a little bit of a resemblance to your fave and saying “he should get his own persona” or “send him to the military instead” is actually fucking mental https://t.co/1Asl3OGSX2

Of course, it wasn’t all netizens. Many welcomed him into their hearts because of the resemblance. While BTS is huge and loved, it shouldn’t lead to “hate” towards other stars just because they might give off the same vibes as the members.
