INFINITE’s Sungjong has requested to terminate his contract with his label.

On January 16, The Fact reported that Sungjong notified his label, SPK Entertainment, that he would be terminating his contract with them. The report states that the escalation came after the idol sent several requests for the label to provide accounting for his activities after missing payments.

Sungjong’s lawyer was also quoted in the report lamenting the label for not supporting the idol in his promotions and missing payments before stating that they are currently considering taking legal steps to receive the payments owed to the idol. According to the lawyer, SPK Entertainment’s CEO has yet to respond to their requests.

We had asked for a proof of accounting several times before notifying them of the contract termination. The reasons we are terminating the contract are missed payments and loss of trust. The label did not support the idol during his promotions and they did not pay him after.

Meanwhile, Sungjong debuted with INFINITE, a group created by Woollim Entertainment, in 2010. The idol stayed with the label for 12 years before signing with SPK Entertainment in 2022. SPK Entertainment is currently staying silent on the matter.
