Former FTISLAND member and convicted criminal Choi Joon Hoon is suspected of attempting to return to the entertainment industry.

According to reports, Choi Joon Hoon recently joined a Japanese fan platform, Fanicon. Fanicon is similar to private messaging apps such as weverse, where artists can communicate directly with fans.

Choi Joon Hoon reportedly wrote to his fans in the app, stating that he hoped he would be able to communicate with his fans.

It has been almost five years since I last greeted you. Thanks to your messages, I was able to gather strength the to appear in front of you. Thank you so much. I hope I can communicate with HUNIYAs (fandom name).

The disgraced idol would go on to write that he wanted to show more of himself to his fans.

The convicted rapist’s attempts at a comeback have reportedly sparked debate among some netizens, with some calling Choi Joon Hoon shameless while others voiced their support.

Meanwhile, Choi Joon Hoon debuted as a member of FTISLAND. In 2019, the idol was sentenced to a 30-month prison sentence for gang-raping a woman while she was drunk.
