Throughout 2023, one of the biggest topics of debate was BLACKPINK’s contract renewal with YG Entertainment. At the end of the year, it was finally revealed that the members had resigned as a group but would be conducting their solo promotions elsewhere.
In particular, it was revealed that Jennie had created her own company called Oddatelier.
Since the announcement was made, netizens shared how excited they are about the future of the members. Whether it’s Jisoo filming, Lisa‘s upcoming show in Paris, or Rosé and Jennie being in the studio, many believe YG Entertainment held them back.

After all the praise for the members, netizens saw YG Entertainment do its “final” actions with the members as soloists.
YG Entertainment’s website has various pages about its artists, whether they are groups, soloists, or actors signed under the company.
On January 11, netizens noticed that the members’ names had been removed as soloists. Although BLACKPINK was still listed, the members’ individual names, which had previously been on the website, had been removed, which isn’t surprising as YG will no longer be dealing with their solo activities.
When the changes were shared online, netizens couldn’t hide their excitement, believing that YG Entertainment’s actions cemented BLACKPINK’s “freedom.”
