Netflix Misidentifies Wi Ha Joon As Song Kang

Netflix mixed up two of its hottest actors.

Actor Wi Ha Joon rose to stardom for his role in the Netflix thriller Squid Game and appeared in Little Women the following year.

Actor Song Kang became known as the “son of Netflix” for his frequent casting in K-Dramas released on the streaming service, such as Nevertheless, Love Alarm, Sweet Home, Navillera, and Forecasting Love and Weather.

Both actors are currently in two popular K-Dramas that are available for live streaming via Netflix. Song Kang stars as the male lead, Jeong Gu Won, in My Demon, while Wi Ha Joon appears as Kwon Jun Taek in Gyeongseong Creature.

Netflix frequently posts edits and memes related to their content via social media. So, Netflix’s Korean entertainment-focused social media account, Netflix K-Content, shared an edit of Wi Ha Joon from Gyeongseong Creature via X (formerly Twitter).

Yet, netizens noticed that its caption and hashtags appeared totally unrelated to the content. It read, “when the demon cries, we all cry #MyDemon #Netflix #SongKang.” It was clearly intended for a post of Song Kang in My Demon.

The post went viral with 314.9K views at the time of writing. Netizens commented on the post, encouraging Netflix to let its intern get some rest.

Netflix K-Content’s Instagram account posted the same edit of Wi Ha Joon with the correct caption. Meanwhile, an edit of Song Kang with the matching caption from X was also shared.
