A Public Ad Of ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao Earns Some Negative Reactions

A recent advertisement for ZEROBASEONE‘s Zhang Hao has gotten some less than positive reactions for what it featured.

One way K-Pop idols can support their favorite idols is through public advertisements. Most often, these are done in subway stations around Korea, but as K-Pop expands, ads will be placed in other, more large-scale locations.

Some alternatives offer large-scale results for fans who do not have a lot of money to spend on an ad. For example, some agencies offer 15-second spots for around $40 or $150 for a whole day of the ad showing periodically.

One such ad featuring Zhang Hao has attracted some attention for its content.

In a clip shared online, a fan posted an ad that appeared in Times Square. The image is one that Zhang Hao shared on Bubble featuring the idol lying in a pool of water.

The photo is cropped, but Zhang Hao’s group and name are shown at the top.

Some did not think using that image of Zhang Hao was entirely appropriate. Usually, a performance clip will show the artist’s skills or at least have the idol’s full face shown with some message of support.

man people are so embarrassing why would you do this please think things through for a second before you do it https://t.co/Bi3WABkSKL

that times square ad ain’t it btw… bbl is a private message service that is supposed to be a safe space for him and his fans. posting anything he sends there to an audience that has nothing to do with it defeats the point of it and even the sentiment behind what’s shared there pic.twitter.com/p1Bvn0E5nA
