Australian-Tamil singer and songwriter Dhee has teamed with KATSEYE member Lara Raj for a remix of her single “Vari Vari.” The new version follows the original Tamil track, which arrived in April and has accumulated more than 33 million global streams and nearly 400,000 creates.
Dhee said working with Raj gave the remix an additional connection to their shared heritage. “For me, the remix also represents sisterhood and the joy of two Tamil women coming together to create something,” she said. Dhee added that the pair had “the best time in the room” while making the track and wanted the new version to retain the earnestness of the original. The remix shifts “Vari Vari” toward the dancefloor while preserving the song’s emotional foundation.
Dhee grew up in Sydney, Australia, before relocating to Chennai, India, and began recording for Tamil films in the 2010s. She contributed “Naan Nee” to the 2014 film Madras and later recorded music for Irudhi Suttru and Kaala. Her 2018 song “Rowdy Baby,” from Maari 2, went on to surpass 1.5 billion views on YouTube. In 2021, she collaborated with Santhosh Narayanan on “Enjoy Enjaami.”
Earlier in 2026, Dhee participated in H&M’s H&M&REDSTAGE project, reinterpreting GIVĒON’s “Like I Want You” in March. That same month, she joined Tiwa Savage, Santhosh Narayanan, and WondaGurl on the single “Ancient Seed.” Dhee also appeared with Sean Roldan on “Adi Alaye,” late last year for the first single from the Tamil film Parasakthi. Those releases followed a career that has already included collaborations with artists including Ed Sheeran, WondaGurl, and Tiwa Savage.
