Tom Hardy has been confirmed as returning for season three of MobLand, after months of speculation regarding his status on the show.

The Guy Ritchie-directed crime drama stars the actor as Harry Da Souza, a ‘fixer’ for the notorious Hartigan crime family, led by Conrad and Maeve Hartigan (Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren). In May, it was reported Hardy had been let go from the series following clashes during the filming of season two that saw him refuse to leave his trailer.
That story was quickly refuted by a production source talking to Variety, who revealed the matter was being resolved. In June, it was reported that Hardy was back in the fold, following discussions held in London between the actor and the show’s producers, with Ritchie also involved. Now, the star’s return has been made official.
Alongside a press release confirming Hardy’s return (via Variety), Paramount+ confirmed via social media that the show was returning for a third season, with the self-aware caption “you haven’t seen the last of them”. Season two of the show premieres September 18 on the streamer.
MobLand’s first season received a three-star review from NME, which described the drama as “funny but familiar”, comparing it to Ritchie’s previous work. “For all the laugh-out-loud moments and intriguing plot lines, it’s hard to believe Guy Ritchie is still rolling out the same old schtick,” wrote Jordan Bassett. “It’s as well made a version of this show as you could expect but it’s nothing to get excited about. Lock, Stock feels like a very long time ago indeed.”
Tom Hardy recently released his first official rap album with Czarface, featuring guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Method Man and El-P. Rapping under the monicker Frankie Pulitzer, he resurrected his famous Bane voice from The Dark Knight Rises for one track on the LP.
