The ‘Party Hard’ artist has dropped a 10 track jazz noir LP that “marks one of the most unexpected transformations in the career of an artist who has spent more than two and a half decades defying expectations,” according to a press release.

It adds: “Trading the maximalist hard rock associated with much of his career for a sprawling instrumental landscape of piano, brass, woodwinds, cello, percussion, vibraphone, organ, synthesizers, and more, the album reveals another dimension to an artist whose musicality has always extended far beyond his public persona.”

W.K. produced and mixed the album himself while also performing piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, organ, celeste, vibraphone, keyboards, synthesizers, and vocals throughout the record. It was recorded and mixed at Valentine Studios in Los Angeles.

The record features tracks including ‘Michael’s Theme’, ‘Nightmares’, ‘Manhattan Beach’ and ‘Insomnia’.

It follows on from his 2021 album ‘God Is Partying’, which NME said in a four-star review found the artist with an “undimmed” dedication to the cause, adding: “On his 2001 single ‘Party Hard’, the American rocker promised that ‘when it’s time to party, we will always party hard’. Thankfully, nothing has changed.”

Since his last record, he married Two Broke Girls star, who is also known for playing Darcy Lewis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kat Dennings in an intimate Los Angeles ceremony in 2023.

They announced their engagement in May of 2021 after they began dating earlier in the year.

There were only about 15 attendees at the ceremony, which included close friends Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song.

The tracklisting for ‘Temptation to Exist’ is:

‘Michael’s Theme’
‘Nightmares’
‘Edge of Interior’
‘Between Veils’
‘No Clue’
‘Manhattan Beach’
‘North Hollywood’
‘Double Boulevard’
‘For Steven’
‘Insomnia’
