‘Grand Theft Auto’ leaks continue as hackers reportedly taunt Rockstar Games

This week’s Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks seem to be continuing with a total of four gameplay videos now appearing online.

Following the apparent leak of a gameplay map and footage of Jason, one of the game’s protagonists, enjoying life at his ocean view home, the new leaks show taser gameplay and a cutscene that appears to taunt the game’s publishers, Rockstar Games.

The latest leaks also come with an overlaid message that seems to take aim at Rockstar’s release strategy for the game: “No physical discs? Then more leeks!” (sic)

Though physical versions of the game will be available for purchase, they will contain only download codes in lieu of discs. The physical edition will be available in stores on November 12, a week ahead of the game’s wider release, allowing pre-loading before the game unlocks on November 19.

The latest stream of GTA6 leaks comes just a week before an Extended Look at the game is due to premiere on Netflix at 8pm on August 27. Though the Extended Look will be released more widely at 2am the following morning, Rockstar Games’ decision to lock it behind a streaming paywall to begin with has angered some GTA fans.

This isn’t the first time that GTA6‘s rollout has been hit by leaks. At the start of the year, Rockstar fired a number of staff after accusing them of sharing confidential information with the public. And back in 2022, a British teenager was arrested for hacking Rockstar and leaking over one hours-worth of development footage for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Some fans were worried that the physical version of Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delayed in an attempt to stop further leaks but Take Two boss Strauss Zelnick has debunked that rumour.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set for release on November 19 – and new figures suggest that the vast majority of fans are preordering the more expensive Ultimate edition instead of the cheaper Standard edition. Earlier this year, Rockstar confirmed it would be making several in-game features exclusive to the more expensive Ultimate version.
