Over the past few months, IU and Suga have shown quite a few glimpses of their friendship, which seemingly dates back several years. The two K-Pop stars have also collaborated on two songs, “Eight” and “People Pt 2.”

While fans are in love with this duo both as friends and as artists, according to IU, Suga was not the first BTS member she wanted to collaborate with.

IU recently appeared on Suga’s YouTube show Suchwita and shared this interesting episode. When asked what kind of a song she would have made with RM, IU responded that it probably would have been “something really serious,” reflecting her mental status back then.

However, even though IU got RM’s number from Suga, she never actually contacted him. The singer explained that even asking for his contact took her a lot of courage. But since she was not acquainted with him at all, she was hesitant to call and ended up never doing it.

Eventually, IU lost interest in the very idea that she wanted to work on with RM and instead came up with “Eight.”

While developing the idea, she felt that it would be better to work on the song with someone the same age as her, and she went with “the best,” Suga.
