Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most-anticipated video games ever created. The sequel to 2013’s Grand Theft Auto 5 is rumoured to be the most expensive game ever made, and has been delayed twice already from its originally 2025 launch date.
Earlier this year, publishers Take Two Interactive confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be released November 19 with pre-orders going live in June. Many other studios have changed their schedules so new releases don’t clash with the launch, including the Fable reboot. After the Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Games Fest, the only confirmed release for November was Barbie Rewind.
However it looks like Nintendo isn’t afraid of Grand Theft Auto 6 stealing their thunder. According to the release date of several new Amiibo products, it’s highly likely that their remake of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time will launch November 12 – just one week ahead of GTA 6. For the past few waves of new Amiibo products, Nintendo has launched them alongside a new title and Ocarina Of Time is currently the only Nintendo title set to launch in 2027.

“Holy Crap, It looks as though Nintendo are ACTUALLY doing it, they are going head to head with GTA 6 in November. I admire Nintendo’s balls of steel even if I think it’s incredibly stupid given the attention vacuum GTA 6 will be but I guess they had no other choice,” wrote gaming journalist Reece ‘Kiwi Talkz’ Reilly on X.
“Ocarina Of Time launching in November is not going to be impacted by GTA negatively. It’s crazy calling it stupid, like two things can’t exist at the same time or that they may have different audiences or people that want both,” replied one fan. “Just two completely different games for two completely different demographics. Zelda does not give a fuck about GTA,” said another.
Not much is known about The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake, but Nintendo has called it a “reborn” version of the classic game.
In other news, The Simpsons has returned to Fortnite as part of the new Reload season, alongside a John Wick crossover.
