The Adam And Joe Show is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special live show at London’s Royal Albert Hall this year.

Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish will reunite at the historic venue on November 11 to revisit the cult Channel 4 sketch series through clips, memories and behind-the-scenes stories.
“You’re invited to a giant watch party to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Channel 4’s groundbreaking DIY TV sensation, The Adam And Joe Show, featuring big-screen assisted retro-ramblings from Adam and Joe in person,” the pair have said.
“It’ll be the most fun anyone’s had since the late ’90s, with two men who are almost in their late 90s! Toymovies! BaaadDad! The Vinyl Justice Squad! Stupid pranks! The Footie Song!”
They added: “Afflicted with nostalgia? Join thousands of friendly fellow sufferers in a big room and have it cured!”
An artist and venue pre-sale will begin at 10am tomorrow (July 29), followed by an AEG pre-sale at the same time on Thursday (July 30). Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (July 31). Find tickets here.
Created, filmed and presented by childhood friends Buxton and Cornish, The Adam And Joe Show first aired in December 1996 and ran for four series until 2001.
The late-night show became known for its homemade approach to parodying contemporary film, television and music, with much of it filmed from the pair’s bedsit.
Among its best-known recurring features were Toymovies, which saw the pair recreate films with stuffed toys and cardboard sets, and Vinyl Justice, where they dressed as police officers and inspected celebrities’ record collections.
BaaadDad, meanwhile, featured Buxton’s father Nigel reviewing music videos by artists he knew little about. The pair won the Best Newcomers prize at the Royal Television Society Awards in 1998.
The duo later presented radio shows together on XFM and BBC Radio 6 Music, and reunited in 2016 for a 20th anniversary event at the BFI Southbank. All four series of The Adam And Joe Show are currently available through Channel 4 and WOW Presents Plus.
Speaking to NME when the show arrived on streaming in 2020, Buxton and Cornish joked that their toy film sketches had inspired the animated comedy Robot Chicken.
“Robot Chicken definitely ripped us off though, come on,” Buxton said.
Cornish agreed: “I think that’s true. And to think that something’s true these days is enough to make it true.”
Since the original series ended, Cornish has written and directed films including Attack The Block and The Kid Who Would Be King, and created the Netflix series Lockwood & Co.. He also worked on the screenplays for Ant-Man and The Adventures Of Tintin.
Buxton has continued working as a comedian, writer and host of The Adam Buxton Podcast. Last year, he released his debut album ‘Buckle Up’, produced primarily by Metronomy frontman Joe Mount.
