Earlier this year, Square Enix confirmed three new vinyl collections would be released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 10, which launched in Japan on July 19, 2001 before a sequel followed in 2003. The games are set in the fantasy land of Zanarkand and see a group of adventurers trying to defeat the rampaging monster known as Sin. To date, the two games have sold more than 21million copies worldwide.
One vinyl release will feature Nobuo Uematsu’s ‘To Zanarkand’ theme alongside a number of remixes and live performances, while the the 12-track ‘House Grooves’ album sees iconic tracks from Final Fantasy 10, such as ‘Zanarkand’, ‘Seymour Battle’ and ‘A Dream That Will One Day End’, blended with “the deep, resonant sounds of deep house”.
Meanwhile, the ‘Eternal Calm’ 2LP set will feature a specially curated selection of 20 songs from Final Fantasy 10’s original soundtrack, which was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano.
