Moana is released in cinemas this week, but what songs appear on the live-action remake’s soundtrack? Find out below.
Directed by Thomas Kail, the film is a live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2016 animated musical adventure. It stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana, the daughter of a Polynesian chief who sets sail beyond the reef of Motunui after being called by the ocean.
Dwayne Johnson reprises his role as the demigod Maui, while the cast also includes John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina, Rena Owen as Gramma Tala and Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa.
The original animated film starred Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana. She does not appear on screen in the remake, but serves as an executive producer and features on the new end-credits song.
Moana is released in UK and US cinemas on Friday (July 10).

At the time of writing, the remake has received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics. It currently holds a 36 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising elements of the casting and songs while questioning the need for such a faithful remake.
Every song on the live-action Moana soundtrack
The live-action Moana soundtrack includes new versions of songs from the original animated film, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi and Mark Mancina.
The album also includes a new original song, ‘Along The Way’, written by Miranda and performed by Auliʻi Cravalho, Catherine Lagaʻaia and Dwayne Johnson.
The film’s score is by Mark Mancina, who also worked on the 2016 film and its 2024 sequel Moana 2.
