The track, which is her third from her upcoming album ‘Music, Fashion, Film‘, after gritty lead single single ‘Rock Music’, and the edgy ‘SS26’ sees the pop star’s accompanying Aidan Zamiri-directed video opening with her lying in a field snacking on a strawberry underneath a cloudy sky before we see her sitting on the roof of her home.
She then delivers the eye-watering lyrics: “I used to lick cream off strawberries in the summer / And maybe I fucked your Dad,” she sings before adding: “Just kidding, I’m only saying that for effect.”
Charli then insists that she’s changed reasoning: “I used to jump on trampolines with no underwear on / And now I basically just wear trousers.”
As she goes about washing windows, doing laundry, and cleaning the dishes, each chore gets progressively provocative as she sings the catchy chorus: “Here’s the truth, and I gotta be honest / I’m not a bad girl anymore, I promise.”
It comes after she recently teased an unexpected collaboration on her upcoming seventh studio album which is due to arrive July 24 – pre-order it here.
The album’s black and white cover is shot by Aidan Zamiri, and sees John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese posing together.
In an interview this year, the artist told British Vogue some of the lyrics to ‘Rock Music’ – prompting speculation that the album would take a heavier direction.
Charli later clarified that she “never said” she was making a rock album, but previously made it clear that she was distancing herself from the sound of ‘Brat’, her seminal 2024 record.
She also recently opened up about her mental health struggles, saying she has difficulty coming to terms with online discourse about her.
“I am finding it tough to … I don’t know,” she added. “I’m finding my emotions are very, very volatile at the minute, I’ll be honest.”
