Back in 2023, Hollywood blockbuster Barbie went up against Christopher Nolan’s historical thriller Oppenheimer in cinemas around the world. The head-to-head was dubbed “Barbeheimer” by film fans and now it seems that gamers are getting their own version of the clash.
Over the weekend, a number of new titles were announced during the Xbox Games Showcase and the Summer Games Fest’s opening ceremony. However, it seems that almost every studio is avoiding November and the long-awaited release of GTA 6.
But not the team behind Barbie Rewind, which is currently the only other game scheduled to launch this November. “Decorate the DreamHouse through the decades, while playing classic Barbie games. In Barbie Rewind, Barbie invites you into her cozy, creative world and entrusts you to customise her DreamHouse. Barbie also left you her game collection, so you can revisit your favourite Barbie video games,” reads the description of the compilation game. Barbie Rewind is set to launch November 12 for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles, as well as PC.
Most publishers are avoiding GTA VI…
Meanwhile, Barbie Rewind said: “See you in November.”

GTA VI – Nov 19, 2026

Last month it was confirmed the Fable reboot would be pushed back to 2027 to avoid clashes with GTA 6 and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Developers explained they wanted the game to have “the dedicated moment it deserves”.
However publishers Devolver Digital have deliberately moved the release date of an unannounced game to November 19, the same day that Grand Theft Auto 6 launches. “You can’t escape us,” they wrote on X.
In other news, the team behind Destiny 2’s music have shared a new soundtrack album to mark the game’s final update.
