Tom Hardy was not “fired” from drama series MobLand according to a new report, despite rumours that his on-set behaviour had led him to not be invited back.

Headlines emerged lately that the British actor was let go from the Guy Ritchie-directed series following the shooting of season two, after disagreements with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser over script rewrites, as well as staying in his trailer for hours keeping co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren waiting.
Later investigations found that there may be a way back for him, but a new report has revealed he wasn’t let go at all.
“Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for season three and things are being worked through creatively,” a production source told Variety. “I’m sure Guy is probably pushing David Glasser to make it work,” they continued. “Guy likes working with Tom.”
The article claims some of Hardy’s “difficult” behaviour stems from working with rotating directors for each episode, but that Ritchie’s experience means “he’s better behaved”.
Regarding his relationship with his co-stars, the source said the delays were “frustrating” for Mirren and Brosnan, but that “any actor is frustrated when they’re made to wait a couple of hours.”
Neither Hardy, Brosnan or Mirren have publicly commented on the situation, although Helen Mirren’s official Instagram account posted a picture of Hardy with the caption: “Love you now and always Helen”. The outlet has reported that Hardy will probably be needed for reshoots of season two, while season three begins shooting this autumn.
MobLand debuted on Paramount+ in March 2025, with Hardy starring as Harry De Souza, a “fixer” for the notorious Harrigan crime family. The premiere would break the record for the largest series launch for the streaming service. NME’s review of the first season argued that “Tom Hardy, both endearing and menacing, is easily the best thing in the show.”
