Music Program “The Show” to Return After 7 Months on New Channel

The cable music program “The Show” is set to resume broadcasting seven months after its conclusion. “The Show” is scheduled to air its first episode on June 2. It has also been reported that the production team recently held meetings with various entertainment agencies to finalize the lineup for the premiere episode.

“The Show” originally ended its run last November. At the time, rumors circulated that the program was being permanently cancelled; however, the show’s representatives merely stated that “the broadcast for this year is coming to a close.”

Launched in 2011, “The Show” is one of the leading cable music programs, having maintained a continuous run for approximately 14 years. This resumption of broadcasting involves a complete overhaul of the production and programming structure, while retaining the original program title.

Previously, “The Show” aired on the SBS funE channel and was produced by SBS MediaNet. Production of the program had ceased last year following SBS MediaNet’s withdrawal from the entertainment business sector. The newly relaunched “The Show” is scheduled to air on the SBS LIFE channel. Production duties will be shared by SBS LIFE and BIGC, an entertainment technology startup.

Kim Chil-sung, BIGC’s Head of Performance Business—and a former employee of SBS MediaNet—will lead the production of “The Show.” Representatives for “The Show” stated, “Going beyond a simple resumption of broadcasting, we aim to be reborn as a global music show that delivers a fresh and innovative media experience.”
