Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially announced in December 2023. The follow-up to Grand Theft Auto 5 was originally set to launch in late 2025 before it was delayed to May 26, 2026.
Last year, Rockstar Games pushed back the release even further, claiming “these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” Grand Theft Auto 6 is now set to launch November 19.
According to experts, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the most expensive video game ever made and there has been plenty of speculation from fans and analysts about how much developers Rockstar Games will charge for the title.
Some fans believe Rockstar Games will finally confirm Grand Theft Auto 6’s price this week if pre-orders go live. Sony has started sending out emails to PlayStation 4 owners encouraging them to upgrade to a PlayStation 5 in order to play GTA 6, while a viral X post from an employee who allegedly works at a ”large UK game retailer” claims they’ve received the press pack for the game ahead of pre-orders going live tomorrow (May 12).
Publishers Take-Two are also set to have an earnings call next week (May 21), with fans convinced they’ll want pre-orders live before that. Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick also promised marketing for the game would begin in summer.

Stating that a retailer in the UK has sent out a press pack to their employees confirming GTA 6 pre-orders go live on the May 12th.
And the price will be £69.99.

It’s been over a year since Rockstar Games shared the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, with a third trailer expected to launch alongside pre-orders. However some Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have been convinced that news is imminent since the start of the year and so far, nothing has materialised. Last year, a number of rumours about delays and updates were proved to be false.
In other news, gamers are divided over the ‘90s-inspired coming-of-age title Mixtape, which launched last week and can be completed in around three hours.
