The first season of Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 is streaming now, but what songs appear in the show? Find out below.
The animated spinoff series is set in Hawkins in 1985, between the events of the second and third seasons of Stranger Things, and it depicts the central group of friends – Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max – as they find new monsters emerging from the Upside Down.
It is intended to revive the aesthetic of an ‘80s Saturday morning cartoon, and it has been developed by Eric Robles and Jennifer Muro.
All 10 episodes of the show landed on Netflix on April 23, and you can check out the trailer here:
The Duffer brothers, who are executive producers on the show, have said: “When we started talking about, was there anything else we wanted to do with Stranger Things, this was one of our first ideas. The idea was to evoke a feeling of an ’80s cartoon. With animation, there’s really no limits. Eric and his team can go wild, and they have.”
Another Stranger Things spin-off is in the works, a live-action show that the Duffer brothers have described as exploring “new characters and a new mythology”, but without the characters from the main show.
Tales From ‘85 has been met with largely negative reviews from critics, with some criticising the show’s listless storytelling and lack of purpose.
