The fourth film in the franchise that started with Meet The Parents arrives 16 years after the last instalment (2010’s Little Fockers) and finds Greg (Ben Stiller) welcoming his son’s new girlfriend Olivia (Grande) into the fold.
He’s shocked to find that his mistrusting father-in-law Jack (Robert De Niro) embraces her instantly, while he begins to suspect her motives. You can watch the clip below.
The trailer opens with the recreation of a classic scene from the franchise, where De Niro brings out his lie detector test for Grande as he did with Stiller in the earlier movies. The clip also has many slapstick moments, such as Greg and Olivia getting in a competitive bike race, which results in the latter crashing spectacularly. Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart) joins the cast as Greg’s daughter, while Owen Wilson returns as his former love rival Kevin.
Focker-In-Law is scheduled for a November 25 release in UK cinemas. The three previous films have grossed over $1billion (£737million) collectively, and this new instalment marks Grande’s first acting role since leaving the Wicked franchise.
On the music side of things, the artist is set to kick off her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ world tour in June before a string of UK shows in August. After that, she’s heading to London’s West End to star in Sunday In The Park With George opposite Jonathan Bailey, which will open summer 2027.
She also sparked rumours online about potentially joining the sequel for A Minecraft Movie, with speculation being raised after she followed the previous film’s star Jack Black on Instagram (something she has done with past co-stars before being announced as working with them).
