American hard rock band Crush 40 are behind some of Sonic The Hedgehog’s best musical moments including  ‘Open Your Heart’ (Sonic Adventure), ‘Live And Learn’ (Sonic Adventure 2), ‘What I’m Made Of…’ (Sonic Heroes), ‘I Am… All of Me’ (Shadow The Hedgehog) and ‘Green Light Ride’ (Team Sonic Racing). Earlier this year, vocalist Johnny Gioeli announced a “last hurrah” world tour to coincide with Sonic The Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary.

“For the first time, the band will perform across multiple countries, playing the songs that helped define the sound of the Sonic The Hedgehog series,” reads a press release. “The concert has been designed so that the visuals are not just a backdrop, but a core part of the show itself. Original animations, custom visuals, and a unique story will play alongside the music, creating a fully immersive experience that evolves throughout the performance.”

Last month, Gioeli announced that the ‘Speed Of Sound’ tour would kick-off at Los Angeles’ Avalon Theatre on December 11. He’s now announced a London show for February 2027.

‘Speed Of Sound’ will take to London’s Troxy on February 6, 2027. VIP tickets will be available from April 30 ahead of a general sale on May 1. You’ll be able to buy them here.

Shows in Canada, the USA, South America, Scotland, Poland, Norway, Mexico and more are still to be announced.

The Crush 40 ‘Speed Of Sound’ tour has been described as a “fan event” and isn’t anything to do with Sega. At the end of 2024, Johnny Gioeli sued Sega for more than $1million over ownership of Sonic anthem ‘Live And Learn’ but the lawsuit was dismissed last year.

Meanwhile Sega composer and Crush 40 guitarist Jun Senoue hasn’t confirmed his involvement in ‘Speed Of Sound’, but he will be hitting the road as part of the official ‘Sonic 35th Anniversary x Sonic Live’ tour which is due to take place later this year.

In other news, Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds has released his very own video game alongside a ten-track album of ‘70s-inspired music.
