Red Velvet member Irene has released her debut full-length studio album, Biggest Fan on March 30, roughly a year and four months after her first mini-album, “Like A Flower.” The 10-track record explores the range of emotions she has encountered in daily life, and centers on her journey toward self-empowerment and resilience, supported by her dedicated fanbase.
The title track ‘Biggest Fan’ is an upbeat pop-dance song built around a driving bassline, rhythmic drums, and chant-style hooks. Its lyrics reflect Irene’s confident, positive outlook and carry a message about the mutual exchange of encouragement between an artist and her fans — the idea of becoming each other’s “biggest fans.”
The remaining nine tracks span a variety of genres, including R&B-pop, electro-pop, and band-pop. Highlights include ‘Best Believe,’ which captures a sense of new beginnings; ‘Don’t Wanna Get Up,’ a mystical electro-pop piece; and ‘MTV (My Timeless Video),’ a retro-flavored track dedicated to her bond with fans. Together, the tracks paint a picture of Irene’s broadened musical identity and her growth as a solo artist.
