Just one year into their career, SM Entertainment’s newest girl group Hearts2Hearts has already accomplished what many groups only dream of: selling out their first-ever stateside showcases in both New York and Los Angeles. On Friday night in New York, the rookie act proved that the hype is not only justified—it’s just the beginning.

Long before the doors opened, massive crowds of eager fans gathered outside the venue, their anticipation a palpable force. Once inside, the atmosphere shifted from a waiting game to an intimate exchange. Despite their short time in the industry, Hearts2Hearts commanded the stage with the confidence and polish of seasoned veterans—a hallmark of their SM lineage.

From the opening notes of “The Chase,” it was clear this would be a vocal showcase. Like their labelmates, the group delivered powerful, consistent vocals throughout the night. The choreography was equally impressive, executed with the razor-sharp synchronization that defines K-pop’s elite. Though the showcase clocked in at just one hour, the group maintained a relentless high energy that kept the crowd roaring from start to finish.

The setlist wove together their own growing discography—including “Pretty Please,” “Butterflies,” “Apple Pie,” “STYLE,” and “FOCUS”—with a heartfelt nod to their seniors. Their covers of SM classics like Girls’ Generation’s “Gee” and “Genie,” Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor,” and f(x)’s “Electric Shock” drew some of the loudest cheers of the night, serving as both a tribute and a passing of the torch. Members repeatedly expressed their desire to feel closer to their fans, sharing hopes of one day inspiring the next generation of K-pop idols just as their seniors inspired them.

Between songs, the group kept things playful and engaging. During one memorable moment, Yuha’s shoe flew off mid-performance of “Genie” and landed near Juun, who both confused and amused tried to locate the owner of the rogue footwear. The lighthearted mishap only added to the charm of an evening built on genuine connection.

The LED backscreen visuals added another layer to the performance, enhancing each song with imagery that highlighted the group’s dynamic charm. But it was the raw emotion that stood out most. At one point, member Carmen became visibly moved by the crowd’s energy, admitting she felt so emotional she might cry later.

The showcase closed with their viral track “Rude!”—but not before one final interactive moment. After the last song, the members had the audience perform Stella’s interlude, genuinely surprised by how well the fans knew the lyrics. The crowd and group repeated it together, a fitting end to a night built on shared moments.

For a group that debuted just a year ago, Hearts2Hearts already possesses the stage presence, vocal strength, and crowd connection of artists far beyond their years. If this showcase was any indication, they’re well on their way to inspiring that next generation they spoke of—and their New York fans will surely remember the night it all began.

Hearts2Hearts will perform at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on March 22 and Clive Davis Theater at the Grammy Museum on March 23.
