Earlier this week, Fortnite unveiled a mammoth ‘Showdown’ event that sees you picking between Team Foundation or Team Ice King before heading into battle. As well as earning new weapons and items, the winning team at the end of the season decides the final reward – either Frost-Ready Foundation or Exalted Frost Ice King.

Fortnite players can also compete against a rival and climb a global leaderboard for the chance to win graphics cards. Next month, a new build-only, ranked mode called ‘Arenas’ will go live.

As part of Fortnite Chapter Seven Season Two, Dwayne Johnson’s The Foundation hero has returned to the game as part of ‘Showdown’ event and the Looney Tunes will be arriving in the coming weeks.

Epic Games has yet to reveal much about its Game Of Thrones crossover but it’s expected the event could go live later today.

According to leakers, three skins will be available as part of the event – Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and The Ice King. Themed backblings, emotes and items will also be included in the Fire & Ice bundle.

Daenaerys’ dragon Drogon will also be available as a glider while Jon and The Ice King are expected to go head-to-head as part of the ‘Showdown’ event. Jon’s emote is also expected to play the entire Game Of Thrones theme.

Earlier this week, Fortnite surprised players by vaulting the fan-favourite Daft Punk experience when it was expected to run until the end of 2026. It comes after Epic Games confirmed Fortnite V-Bucks would be getting more expensive to “help pay the bills”.

In other news, ambitious open-world game Crimson Desert is out today (March 20) but is getting mixed reviews from gaming fans.
