NME Screams announces special ‘They Will Kill You’ preview screening

In partnership with Warner Bros. UK

NME Screams, the frightful spin-off from our regular NME Screens events, will show They Will Kill You at a special preview in London on March 26. Find out how to get your complimentary tickets below.

They Will Kill You stars Zazie Beetz as ex-convict Asia Reeves, who begins a live-in housekeeping job at exclusive New York high-rise complex The Virgil. Initially it goes smoothly, however problems start to arise when she discovers the residents there are running a satanic temple from within the block’s walls. To appease Beelzebub, they must offer up a monthly human sacrifice – and the new hire is at the top of their hitlist.

The gory horror comedy is directed by Kirill Sokolov and co-produced by IT mastermind Andy Muschietti. Severance‘s Patricia Arquette, Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Industry’s Myha’la appear alongside Heather Graham and Paterson Joseph. Check out the terrifying trailer below:

They Will Kill You’s pop gore is so fun,” said Beetz during a recent Reddit AMA. “I love that this film has a really strong visual character and that’s something I really enjoy in horror. Stab stab and slash slash is one thing, but to make it visually beautiful as well is hard but really adds to what makes this movie fun.”

“I was surprised how many people in the comments [to the trailer] wrote: ‘They gave away the entire movie.’ I would like to say [to them]: ‘Trust me, please. You will be very surprised.’ I won’t tell you more, but it will be a crazy and exciting journey,” added Sokolov.

Scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at Everyman King’s Cross in London, the NME Screams event comes ahead of the film’s official release on March 27. Doors open at 6.45pm and the screening starts at 7pm. Exclusive NME merch will be on offer and tickets are complimentary, available now via Fixr here.

Creating exclusive film and TV experiences for NME‘s millions of readers in print, online and social media – NME Screens first launched in March 2023 and has hosted sold-out screenings of Amy Winehouse biopic Back To Black, Wes Anderson’s offbeat sci-fi comedy Asteroid City, acclaimed social satire Saltburn, noughties New York indie doc Meet Me In The Bathroom, sexy, stylish drama Challengers, Bong Joon-ho’s genre-bending sci-fi Mickey 17 and more. The most recent NME Screams previewed bloody disasterpiece Final Destination Bloodlines at Everyman King’s Cross.
