Bungie’s ambitious first-person shooter Marathon finally launches tomorrow (Thursday March 5) after the game was delayed from its original September 2025 release. Set in the “dark sci-fi world” of Tau Ceti IV, players have to scavenge the unpredictable lands and battle with other gamers.

Last month, Son Lux’s Ryan Lott shared four tracks from the Marathon soundtrack and now, his collaboration with Poppy for the game has been unveiled. ‘In Death We’ve Just Begun’ is a haunted, atmospheric track that sees Poppy singing “Is there a sign of life in what’s beyond? If I get out alive, they’ll call me god. In flames I will die for what I want.”

Check it out below as part of the Marathon launch cinematic.

‘In Death We’ve Just Begun’ is the first new material from Poppy since she released seventh album ‘Empty Hands’ in January and the creeping, slow-burning song is very different from that crushing metal record.

“There’s a feeling I get, when I’m sitting amongst the extremes, that feels very whole to me,” she told NME back in 2024.”I don’t think it matters [what anyone else thinks]. Nobody really knows what’s going on, so you have to listen to yourself and silence the noise outside. We’re spinning in space on a rock.”

Poppy’s ‘Constantly Nowhere’ UK tour kicks off tonight (March 4) in Glasgow before visiting Bristol, Birmingham and London. Tickets are available here.

Poppy’s UK tour dates are:

MARCH 2026
4 – SWG3, Glasgow
6 – O2 Ritz, Manchester
8 – O2 Institute, Birmingham
9 – Electric, Bristol
10 – Roundhouse, London

Marathon launches tomorrow for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

In other news, Amazon Prime Video has confirmed stage actor Tatum Grace Hopkins will be playing Chloe Price and Maisy Stella (Nashville, My Old Ass) will star as Max Caulfield in the live-action Life Is Strange TV series.
