‘Fortnite’ responds to Winter Olympics star Alysa Liu asking to collab

Winter Olympics star Alysa Liu is the latest star to ask for her own character in Fortnite, following in the footsteps of Chappell Roan and Madison Beer.

Alysa Liu won two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics in the Team and Women’s Single figure skating competitions.

Sitting down with USA Today Sports shortly after her double win, Liu was asked if she’d rather win another gold medal or be the best Fortnite player in the world. “Is neither an option? It would be no fun if you were the best Fortnite player in the world, because you’d just win all the games and that’s kinda boring.”

“I would love a Fortnite skin. I would buy it,” she added.

Shortly afterwards, the official Fortnite Instagram account commented “champions make big plays” on Liu’s victory post. Hundreds of fans then replied, demanding an Alysa Liu Fortnite skin.

Liu wouldn’t be the first sports superstar to join the game either, with LeBron James, Neymar Júnior, Marcos Reyes and fellow two-time medalist Chloe Kim all being immortalised in Fortnite in recent years.

Last year, Chappell Roan asked Epic Games to make her a playable character in Fortnite during an interview with the BBC and earlier this month, her wish came true when she was confirmed as the headliner of Fortnite Festival’s latest season.

Yesterday (February 25), Roan announced a limited-edition merch range inspired by the crossover. “I do not cry a lot and me having a Fortnite skin had me in tears,” she admitted in an email to fans. “It just looks so awesome.”

Following Roan’s inclusion in Fortnite, fellow pop star Madison Beer has also asked Epic Games for her own in-game skin. “Let’s get serious. Stop changing things that we love about Fortnite. Keep it original and give me a skin, please!”

Meanwhile, a Mortal Kombat ice-skating routine by Georgia’s Luka Berulava and Anastasiia Metelkina has gone viral after it was performed at the Winter Olympics 2026 Exhibition Gala. The same event saw Alysa Liu performing a new routine to PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson’s ‘Stateside’ remix.

In other news, Scream icon Neve Campbell has revealed that she turned down the role of Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft.
